I hate my job now. The girl i sit next to is NEVER at her desk doing work - she is hanging out with the supervisor so she is not in trouble for not doing shit....i can't stand it or any of them anymore. Tired of doing the same stuff and saying the same stuff day after day! I need to do something else...

7 days of being sick...7! i'm tired of it..finally feeling better but i'm coughing a ton. I'm done. No more! Whole 3 days holiday weekend wasted...now a full week of work almost lost. It sucks. Ugh!

damm this week has been rough....lots of driving..the usual BS at work...tired and sore makes for bad nights at home...hell i was out at 8pm last night mowing the damm lawn becasue i hadn't gotten to it in like 10+ days...i want to go home and relax but i have projects i want to work on and they will take hours...is fun worth all this time? Maybe not. We'll see how it goes down and if i get any sleep. The wife ususally asks that i take care of the baby on weekend mornings so she can sleep. Can i get out of that? i doubt it. Get up with her - wait for the wife to wake up - dump run, haircut, shopping, 3 cars to wash, weed wacking, house cleanup, and remote control car projects. I want to take my buggy and strap on this tiny camera i have and jump that MOFO on sunday and see how it looks. Gotta find my 12V converter 1st though...gotta find that...good luck to me! UGH! 5 minutes till the weekend! C'MON BIOTCH! Get here!!!!!

Long Way

1800 miles of driving in 10 days - man..i'm beat..and my butt and sides hurt....i mean i drive a lot normally for work..but this was silly - why the hell did i plan a day business trip to my work's service center only 1 days after i got back from NY? sheesh..i'm dumb! It SUCKED to see the sign for Ocean City 30 miles..and have to turn south and go 30 miles into the no-mans land of MD...ugh....but it is over with..back to 100 mile days...i've always wanted to drvie cross country, or like do a circle around it..but after a week of 400 mile days coming 2 days apart..i'm not sure i'm cutout for it..not that young anymore....at least i will get paid for my work trip - gotta love $0.48 per mile...

NY rocked....found out my cousins who i knew were stupid well off like own the friggin world now..literally....and to see his M5 and Shelby GT500 and like 4 other dope vehicles in his driveway made me realize how poor I am...seeing a new Cali Spyder being delivered by his house was sick...and all the Bentley's and Masers and 911's and SL55'S etc....that visit always has me wondering what went wrong in my life to not have that $$...maybe one day...ugh!

why the hell when you get to leave work early all the crap falls on you the last second? leaving at 1pm today - so what happens? 12:58 i had 3 "i really need you to do this...." phone calls...F*(*&%^*%^*&! oh well....rolled out...had some time to go get the subie after like a $1g in repairs....do some shopping and ran in into Brad..chatted for a bit (miss hangin with you bud!) then got to come home and prep for our trip...grandma and grandpa and my cousins all get to see the little natty monster for a few days! Already i was being told i have computer and stereo repair/rewiring duties when i get there...how do parents know nothing about technology? (sigh) oh well..glad to help them out and get some Brents! what is that? only the best fast NY deli breakfast egg bacon and cheese sandwiches on the plantet! Yeah baby! No one understands! Best stuff on earth? Snapple don't have nothin on this....can't wait....rolling out at 5am will be tough...but missing traffic is worth the hassle..see ya Mary-land..hello NY! L8R!

Weekend

Weekend was cool - had to miss out on a buddy's B-Day party casue the baby needed to be handled..but oh well..she and the wife needed me. (Sorry Matt!) At least sunday we got to go out on the boat for a few hours while grandma and grandpa babysat. That was nice of them. And they rolled out right after we got back! The afternoon was spent relaxing. Now gotta prepare for the trip to see my parental units. 8 hours minimum of driving. But they are desperate to see the little one and i can't blame them. just gotta figure out which vehicle will get us there! At least i get to eat the best food on earth - NY Chow FTW! Yeah! 4 days till happy food time!

Why does the day take so long? One day it is fast and one day it is slow. Man, i hate slow days. I'm writing a lot of stuff for one of my books and the downside is that my hands are starting to hurt and so is my neck. Being creative is tough! The i have no time at home with my wife and baby. 2-3 hours and it's beddie-bye. Sheesh! Sucks! And the hour drive is killing me. Where is that smoke coming from? I have no firggin clue. Ugh!

Why does no one know how to basic car maintaince anymore? It can save you a lot if you drive a ton like i do. Oil change? Nothing better for your car, and gets you under it to see if you have any other problems developing. Here is a quick guide.

What you need:
Good Jack
Jackstand
Oil drainage pan
Rubber Gloves
Safety Glasses
Wrenches or Sockets for the oil drain plug
Filter wrench (strap wrench works from walmart - or a dedicated oil filter attachement for your socket wrench)
Paper towels
Plastic bag
Appropriate oil for your car - 5-8 quarts depending on what you are working on
New Oil filter

Most guys have at least 1/2 these tools. The rest aren't expensive, and after a change or 2 you have paid yourself back.

Steps.
1) Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands. I use blue gloves i got from my auto parts store.
Have the car cool, not just driven or you will burn yourself. You can run it for a minute or 2 prior to changing the oil so it warms up a little and make it flow easier.
2) On a flat surface, locate your jack point as instructed in your owners manual. With the car in Park, or in 1st gear and the emergency brake engaged - (you should have some form of stop for your back wheel, a brick will work or something to stop the car rolling forward if the e-brake isn't very good) jack the car up so you have enough room underneath to get to the oil filter and oil pan bolt.
3) Put a jackstand under a structural memeber of the car to prevent it from falling on you. If you are comfortable with it you can lower the car onto the stand and be safe. Or leave the jack as the main support and the stand as backup.
3a) If you have enough room with the one side supported then continue, if the car is low you
may want to jack up the other side of the car to give you more room to work.
4) Slide your oil catch pan under the car and locate the oil pan and drin plug. It is normally the lowest part of the engine and the plug will face down or down and back. Consult your owners manual for location.
5) Have your appropriate wrnech or socket ready and loosen the plug or bolt. Loosen by hand when it is broken free, and push it up into the pan as you loosen it to prevent oil from splattering. Pull the plug out when it is fully loose and let the oil drain into the pan.
6) Take the plug or bolt and clean it off with a paper towel. You may have gotten oil on you too - so clean the excess.
7) When the oil is draining, locate the oil filter and use whatever tool you have bought to loosen the filter. Lossen it just a little and let it stay for now.
8) Once the oil has drained out of the pan completely, put the bolt/plug back in and tighten. Use a good amount of force but don't put all your strength behind it or you will strip it.
9) Move the catch pan under where the filter is and take it all the way out. (Safety glasses save you from oil splatter) Put the filter in the pan, and use the paper towells to clean the surface the oil filter goes up against.
10) Take your new filter and take some of the old oil in the pan and moisten the gasket around the filter top. This helps it seal. Open a new quart of oil and fill the filter 1/2 way to prevent a dry start. The put the filter in place on it's screw shaft and tighten. (I only use my hands to tighten the filter, but you can use the wrench if you want, again, don't overtighten. The heat from the car will keep it in there ok)
11) Clean any oil from the bottom of the car you splilled, make sure the plug is in and the filter is tight, and then get out from under the car and clean up.
12) Add at least 4 quarts of oil to the engine by the filler that is marked in the engine bay. Start the car and let it run for about 3 minutes to let the oil circulate. The check to level on the dipstick to see if it needs more. Add as needed.
13) Re-jack the car to get the jackstand out, and then lower the car after all tools and the pan have been slid out from under it. Re-start the car and run it again and check the oil level.

With practice you can do this change in 20 minutes. Spot if you have issues under the car, and spend only like $20 in materials. And feel good about yourself! Go do it!

My 1st post. Who am I? No one of consequence, yet! :) I hope to make a little difference in the world at some point. I subscribe to some simple rules. Do the best for those around you, try to enjoy and relax, the world moves too fast. Go after what you want, and always go for more. I'm a new dad and loving my little bundle of Joy. Thankfully she looks like my darling wife! If she is even 1/2 as beautiful as her then i am in trouble in the teen years. Boys will be scared away by my guns, and be admitted only after a thorough screening by me! It will be interesting for sure. I'm always broke. Unable to get up to where i want, so i'm about to try some new stuff. My degree in English and my desire to use my skills has led me to want to freelance. I'm also in the process now of writing 2 books, and trying to decide if i want to post snippets here. We'll see! Well, today i won't comment on the world but i will later. I'm here now and i want people to see if their views agree with mine!
